Royan International Twin Congress came to an end

Scientists and scholars from around the world delivered lectures during Royan International Twin Congress which was held from September 1st to 5th, 2021.

MSTF Media reports:

Royan Institute held the 22nd Congress on Reproductive Medicine and 17th Congress on Stem Cell Biology & Technology over 5 days.

The Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) was one of the sponsors of this international event.

Renowned experts from around the world delivered lectures on different areas of Reproductive Medicine and Stem Cell Biology & Technology to the audience virtually.

On the opening ceremony of this virtual Congress, head of Royan Institute, Abdolhossein Shahverdi; Chairperson of Reproductive Biomedicine Congress, Marjan Sabbaghian; and Chairperson of Stem Cell Biology & Technology Congress, Fereshteh Karamali made speeches.

Among other experts who gave a speech on the opening ceremony were Regional Director of the WHO, Syed Jaffar Husain; President of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Hugh S. Taylor; and President of Iranian Society for Reproductive Medicine (ISRM), Mohammad Ebrahim Parsanejad.

On each day of the Virtual Congress, the lecturers addressed different topics which were discussed in special sessions.

The Virtual Congress on Reproductive Medicine was held over 3 days. On the first day, prominent scientists gave keynote lectures. Anastasia Shpichka from Russia gave a keynote lecture on engineering a model to study COVID-19 infection which included a talk on bioprinting, microfluidics, and organoids. Hugh S. Taylor from the US lectured on reproduction and COVID-19. Another keynote lecturer was Giovanni Corona from Italy who addressed andrological consequences of COVID-19. The last keynote lecture was presented by Masoud Vosough from Iran on novel therapeutic approaches for COVID-19.

Two sessions were also held during the first day of Reproductive Medicine Congress. The first session was on the topic of “Early and Late ART Outcome” (Complications of Pregnancy, Pre- Mature Labor, Children of ART). During the second session, which addressed “RIF Mechanisms, Management,” Nick Mcklon from the UK talked about assessing the endometrial factor in recurrent implantation failure, and Jennifer Gruhn from Denmark gave a speech on how chromosome errors in human eggs shape natural fertility over reproductive life span.

Luca Gianaroli from Italy and Denny Sakkara from the US were among the invited speakers of “ART Laboratory Aspect” session held on the second day. Two other sessions on the topics of “Freeze or Fresh Embryo Transfer” and “Latest Achievements in Infertility” were also held, during which Roya Hoseini from Iran, Alberto Viarelli from Italy, and Saghar Salehpour from Iran along with many other experts gave lectures.

The last day of virtual Reproductive Medicine Congress was dedicated to sessions on “Generation of Artificial Gamete,” “Nuclear Reprogramming and Transgenesis in Farm Animals,” and “Advances in the Management of Varicocele.” Jonathan L. Tilly from the US, Evelyn Telfer from the UK, Björn Peterson from Germany, Alison Van Enennaam from the US, Mohamed Arafa from Qatar, Rubin Shah from India, and Ramadan Saleh from Egypt were among the speakers of the 3rd day of Virtual Congress.

The 17th Virtual Congress on Stem Cell Biology and Technology started on September 4.

Sessions including “Cellular Identity Early Development and Pluripotency,” “Stem Cell in Cancer Development and Therapy,” and “Microenvironmental Cues at Stem Cell Niche” were held On the first day. Among the speakers were Jonathan L. Tilly from the US who talked about Stem cell-based technology platforms to bioengineer functional ovarian tissue ex-vivo, and Nicolas Rivron from Austria who delivered a lecture on Blastoids. Marzieh Ebrahimi from Iran, Jenneke Klein-Nulend from Netherlands, Jianping Fu from the US, and Hanry Yu from Singapore were also among the lecturers of the first day of Stem Cell Biology & Technology Congress.

During the last day of virtual Stem Cell Biology & Technology Congress, sessions on “Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine,” “Micro/Nano Technologies for Stem Cell Research,” and “New Technologies for Stem Cell Research” were held. Brad A. Amendt and Henry Klassen from the US, Sibylle Grad and Tiziano Serra from Switzerland, Hamed Daemi from Iran, and Andreas Bender from the UK were among the numerous scientists who presented lectures on different topics during the last day’s sessions.
