The closing ceremony of the 5th EISA Summit was held virtually on December 7, 2020.

MSTF Media reports:

Held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 5th Exposure of Industries to Scientists’ Achievements (EISA) Summit organized by the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation, came to an end on December 7 after a week.

The speeches delivered by inventors and facilitators from the USA, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Turkey, added lustre to the closing ceremony of the 5th EISA Summit.

President of Medical Device Success, Edward (Ted) Newill, who participated in the 5th EISA Summit as a facilitator, stated that this event “did very well” in providing a platform for engagement of innovators, investors, and facilitators, anticipating that it will “get even better participation in the future.”

Asked what his evaluation of the companies he became acquainted with during the 5th EISA is, he replied: “I think they were very strong.”

Adding that ‘necessity is the mother of invention,’ he said several of the companies based in Iran, presented technologies that were something of a response to COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is excellent, because you have to develop technologies to assist the local population going forward,” he noted.

Pointing to the 2019 Mustafa Prize laureate’s Cancer Diagnostic Probe (CDP) presented in this round of EISA, Newill maintained that “although some other technologies, like Dr. Abdolahad’s probe for breast cancer, have been developed with a different motivation, they were still very impressive.”

“I told him [Mohammad Abdolahad] that he has put a pathology lab on the tip of a probe. It was just excellent,” Newill continued.

Expressing his opinion on Nurbek Yensebayev’s technology—Echolocator for the blind—he remarked “It was another good example from Kazakhstan. I was fascinated with that technology and I think that it deserves exploration.”

Nurbek Yensebayev, co-founder of SEZUAL company whose Echolocator as an assistive device for the blind and the visually impaired people, was presented during the 5th EISA Summit, in a video message said “Previously, I tried to get in touch with different corporations and investors, but it wasn’t easy to find those who would be interested in our inclusive innovations for blind people.”

“In this summit, I met so many people who wanted to learn more about our inclusive technologies and it was really amazing,” he continued.

Extending his thanks to the organizers of the 5th EISA Summit for “creating such great event,” Yensebayev said “I hope that such summits will be held much more times. I really appreciate what you are doing.”

Ali Shourvarzi, founder of MehrabTech whose Ventmann® electro-pneumatic Ventilator designed especially for the COVID-19 pandemic had been introduced in the 5th EISA, expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event, stating “Participating in the EISA Summit was a very great opportunity for us, as we became familiar with different investors, facilitators, and also other companies that work in our field.”

Representative of INVAMED & RD Global Health Inc. from Ankara, Turkey, said “Thanks to this summit, we had the chance to present our products to many investors most of whom expressed great interest.”

“I hope this summit continues to be held in the upcoming years as well, because this is a great opportunity for both innovators and investors to come together,” she added.

EISA, a platform composed of various commercialization services in the STI Eco-system, is developed by the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation to meet the needs of the Islamic world’s knowledge-based industry and scientific community, enabling technological achievements in products and services to be introduced to new markets, industries, and investors. Over the past three years, four EISA Summits have been held in Tehran, Muscat, and Karachi.
