MSTF Media reports:

The 4th round of Noor competition, held in recognition of Professor Omar Yaghi, the 2015 Mustafa Prize laureate, began in August 2019, where students were to create 60-second scientific video clips of their conducting experiments in various fields of materials and energy. The winners of this round of Noor competition were announced and their names are on the official website of the competition.

Due to school closures and disbandment of student teams caused by COVID-19 outbreak, the 4th round of Noor competition provided students with special advantages, including the deadline extension for submitting works (August 21, 2020), familial registration (the enrolment of the students and their families), participation from home along with family members, and a gamut of scientific ideas.

By the expiry of the deadline, 2499 students in forms of 1123 teams participated in this round, submitting 730 video clips to the secretariat. The participants were students from six countries, including Morocco, Algeria, Malaysia, India, Afghanistan, and Iran.

The submitted works went through the selection process and ultimately 130 teams were selected as the winners of the 4th round. The first 68 teams will receive one award for each team and the next 62 groups will jointly receive an award (one award for every two teams). The prize of this round includes a cash award, an appreciation award, and a trophy. Winners of the 4th round of Noor competition were from Malaysia, India, Afghanistan, and Iran.

The closing ceremony of the previous rounds of this student event were held in Tehran, where school students actively and avidly participated in the ceremony; however, this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in compliance with medical advice and healthcare guidelines, the closing ceremony of Noor competition will not be held.
