Mustafa(pbuh) Prize week programs/MSTF measures over last two years

The Mustafa(pbuh) Prize week is to be held in the presence of 127 special guests from 31 countries in Isfahan on September 28-October 4 and the 5th award ceremony will be held on October 3 in Chehel Sotun Palace.

Addressing the the 2023 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize announcement, CEO of Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation Mahdi Saffarinia elaborated on Mustafa (pbuh) Prize objectives, saying that the prize is granted with the aim of creating a symbol of scientific excellence at the global level and to celebrate and model the excellence of science and technology in the Islamic world for innovative works in the frontiers of knowledge and in the fields of science and technology, “Life and Medical Science and Technology”, “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”, “Information and Communication Science and Technology”, and “Basic and Engineering Sciences”.
In addition to certificates of appreciation and medals, the prize in each field includes $500,000 in cash provided by donors and science and technology endowments (Waqf), he said.
The prize has so far been granted in four rounds in 2015,2017, 2019 and 2021. to 14 leading scientists from Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan, Morocco, Lebanon, America (with Jordanian, Iranian and Bangladeshi origin) and Singapore (with Taiwanese origin), he added.
The agenda of the 5th Mustafa(pbuh) Prize week:
The event is to be held on September 28-October 4, Saffarinia said.
Non-Iranian guests will arrive on Thursday (September 28) and the student event of the online artificial intelligence competition for students will be held on Friday, he added.
The exhibition and meeting of artificial intelligence activists will be held in the presence of 50 top companies and 400 experts in this field at Abbasi Hotel, Isfahan, he stated.
The opening ceremony of Mustafa (pbuh) Prize week focusing on promotion and appreciating science and technology will be held in the presence of families in Isfahan International Conferences Center, he stressed.
He went on to say that the 9th Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) will be held simultaneously in the top science and technology centers of Isfahan and other selected provinces in health, energy, environment, artificial intelligence and science, technology and innovation ecosystem fields on September 30-October 2.
Commenting on the ceremony of grating the prize, Saffarinia said that the event will be held in the presence of a thousands of prominent scientists and officials of the Islamic world on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's birth anniversary in Chehel Sotun Palace.
He noted that Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) will be held on Tuesday, October 3 at Abbasi Hotel.
A cultural and recreational tour has been prepared for the guests on the same day, and non-Iranian guests will leave Isfahan on Wednesday (October 4), he said.
5th Mustafa (pbuh) Prize international guests:
127 people from 31 countries including university chancellors and heads of research centers in the Islamic world, policymakers, eminent scientists and technologists, benefactors and media activists; namely 105 people active in the science and technology ecosystem, 49 figures in the policymaking and executive fields, including 11 university chancellors from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, Turkey, Syria, Pakistan, and Malaysia, three academy presidents from Uganda, Pakistan, and Senegal, head of COMSTECH from Pakistan will attend this ceremony, Saffarinia said.
Head of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation from Turkey (with Nigerian origin), the vice president of the World Academy of Sciences from Italy (with Kuwaiti origin), the head of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) from Pakistan, 25 scientists and technologists in the field of health, 16 scientists and technologists in the field of environment, 10 scientists and technologists in the field of energy, 5 scientists and technologists in the field of artificial intelligence, 15 media activists from Algeria, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, and 7 well-known people from Pakistan and Oman are among other guests participating in the 5th Mustafa (pbuh) Prize.
MSTF’s activities over the last two years:
Noor student competition with the aim of giving hope, building identity and promoting science among Muslim youth was one of these measures, Saffarinia said.
Those interested in this competition can participate in the event by making and sending 60-second videos of the students’ scientific experiments, he added.
Saffarinia believes that KANS Scientific Competition was another measure taken by Mustafa (pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation in the last two years which was held with the aim of providing a solution to society's problems, using the capacities of the community of experts, improving the level of motivation and creativity of young elites, creating a platform for identification and exchange scientific and technological ideas for scholars, students and professors under 45 years of age.
Saffarinia said that 500 benefactors and endowers at the international level participated by becoming members of MSTF society, and the resources worth $4m were donated to Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureates.
The MSTF has also managed to attract financial resources worth 600 billion rials in the investment fund and Mustafa (pbuh) Prize endowment, and three rounds of ceremony of the servant of Mustafa (pbuh) have also been held, he added.
During the third round of the event, 12 benefactors were praised in five groups, he noted.
