Judging Begins for Young Scientists’ Fellowship Program / 65 Applications Received from 12 Countries

The judging for the Young Scientists’ Fellowship Program (YSFP) has officially begun. The competition is among 65 scientists under the age of 40 from 12 countries. The winners will be announced soon.
MSTF Media reports:
Applications for the program were accepted via the YSFP website from December 17, 2024, to January 31, 2025 (extended deadline)
Out of the 65 applications from various fields of study, 43 belong to the field of biotechnology, 39 to health, and 33 to information and communication technology.
Qualified applications have been received from Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Oman, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Portugal, and Sudan.
The Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation, in collaboration with COMSTEC (the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation), and other prestigious scientific institutions and R&D centers, launched this program to maintain talent flow among the elite of the Islamic society, and build capacity and empower researchers under 40. The program aims to improve their research skills to promote science, technology and innovation.
Young researchers, technologists, and university faculty members under the age of 40 will benefit from a range of short-term study opportunities that last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the conditions and requirements of the host institution.
This marks the second time that Pakistan’s National University of Sciences & Technology has participated in YSFP, offering five fellowships to young scientists from Islamic countries in various research areas.
Previously, in addition to this university, several science and technology centers of Islamic countries, such as Koc University in Turkey also provided research opportunities for this program.
The expenses and, in some cases, partial financial support are covered through a research grant provided by COMSTECH. Also, applicants may be required to cover some of the other expenses.
