STEP after creating synergy & developing ties with Islamic countries

Head of the 9th STEP, Shaghayegh Haghjooy explained the objectives of holding Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP), saying that the event is after paving the ground for creating synergy and developing cooperation with the Islamic countries.

STEP is aimed at explaining the discourse of science and technology and developing the communication network of Muslim scientists in the form of holding international event and will pave the ground for the creating synergy and developing cooperation and scientific and technological activities in Islamic countries, Haghjooy said.

Four meetings have been held at the top scientific and research centers of the country simultaneous with Mustafa(pbuh) Prize in 2015,2017, 2019 and 2021, she added.

Three meetings will be hosted by University of Putra Malaysia, Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and Karachi University in Pakistan, and one meeting will be held online, she said.

She also pointed to defining 100 research opportunities in partnership with Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), 5 opportunities with National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan (NUST) and registration of 160 people from 14 countries, defining 2 opportunities with Turkey's Koç University and registration of 240 people from 23 countries, defining several opportunities with Sharif University of Technology and the registration of 210 people from 21 countries.

She went on to say that the ‘Research Poster Competition’ is aimed at making participants familiarized with the scientific and technological capacities of the Islamic world and reinfrocing international interactions.

The participants are researchers who have an achievement in the same fields with the laureates of the 5th Mustafa(pbuh) Prize.

She noted that participants with compete in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, data mining, wireless communication technologies, membrane technology applications, nano-medicine, drug delivery, targeted therapy, autoimmune diseases and neurological disorders.
