A Day of Discovery: Highlights from the Second Sci-Feast

The second Sci-Feast, organized by Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation, was held in the Iran International Innovation District.

The second Sci-Feast and its sideline events were held on November 10, 2024, coinciding with World Science Day in the Iran International Innovation District. Professors, school and university students, and members of the science and technology ecosystem attended this ceremony which was centered around the achievements of Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureates and featured a variety of scientific programs.

Eighteen different delegations from different universities across Iran, including those from Dezful, Qazvin, Isfahan, Tehran, Alborz, Tabriz, Mazandaran, Zanjan, etc. participated in this ceremony.

The event included several engaging parts such as the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Science Cafe 23 which focused on drug nanoparticles and highlighted the achievements of Professor Omid Farrokhzad. Additionally, Science Cafe 24 centered on tissue engineering, showcasing the achievements of Professor Ali Khadem Hosseini.

The sideline programs of the 2nd Sci-Feast also included a science journalism workshop and various science promotion booths. In this Sci-Feast, video messages from the five laureates of the 5th round of the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize were shown to the audience, along with presentations by two experts who explained two significant scientific achievements of these laureates in simple terms. In this event, the achievement of Professor Umran Inan, a laureate of the 3rd round of the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize in the field of Ionospheric and Atmospheric Physics was displayed by conducting a scientific experiment. Also, the first issue of the Observatory's scientific-promotional publication in English was unveiled.

As the ceremony concluded, guests, including Omut Bashar, the Educational Counselor of the Turkish Embassy in Iran, visited the Scientists Park of Pardis Technology Park to unveil the busts of the 2023 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureates.

At the end of this ceremony, the 15 winners of the “Sci-Quest” social media competition—focused on the production of multimedia works about great scientists in nanotechnology, particularly those who have received the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize—were presented with commemorative plaques.
