Daryono Hadi Tjahjono, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Bandung Institute Technology in Indonesia, discussed the ways universities, private sectors, and non-government organizations contribute to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic during the 7th Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) on May 18, 2020.

The 7th Science and Technology Exchange Program is going to held on May 18 and 28, 2020 virtually, focusing on the achievements of scientists in the Islamic world regarding Coronavirus and creating a platform for cooperation in solving the crisis.

A Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Mustafa(Pbuh) Prize Laureate, Ugur Sahin, gets authorization for the first clinical trial on human beings.

A laureate of the 2017 Mustafa(Pbuh) Prize is working on a Coronavirus model based on the infectious interactions’ patterns which, when developed, can also be utilized in similar cases.

In a message to Mustafa(Pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation, President of ECO Science Foundation Manzoor Hussain Soomro emphasized the potential opportunity for young scientists from across the globe, but more so the youth of the Islamic world, to put their heads together, network, and utilize their diversity of disciplines and expertise for a common global treatment of COVID-19.

“This is the time for us to show solidarity that we are Ummah and our differences do not lead to any major distinction at this point of time between us. We have to work together and to help each other to defeat COVID-19 in the Islamic world,” The director of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi in Pakistan Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary said in an interview with the MSTF.

“In cooperation with the Mustafa(Pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF), AI-MED Covid-19 Detection System will be offered to all medical and research centers around the world for free”, said the head of the Mustafa(Pbuh) prize Information and Communication Science and Technology group.
